CHARLIE I AM NO ANGEL (AWS) - WINNER SMALL G3-5

Charlie is a small black and tan dog who may be part Lancashire heeler, part Jack Russell he is approx 10 years old now. He was found when he was about 2 years old wandering on a main street by the dog warden in Burnley. Fortunately for him, Barbara Goodwill was also involved with Burnley Dog Rescue. Charlie had 2 unsuccessful rehomings for various reasons before we saw him at a Crossbreed and Mongrel Club dog show.

He came to live with us in September 2000. It became apparent by his behaviour that he had been badly treated. He was very nervous with men and at the slight raising of a voice he would slink off to hide. Charlie started his obedience and agility with Fiona Whelan in Lincoln, his first show being Shrewsbury in 2001.

He took another 3 years of hard work and persistence before he went clear in competition. He would often complete a couple of obstacles and then disappear out the ring. He won out of starters at the Agility club show with his first ever clear by winning starters jumping in 2004 and has never looked back since.  Charlie has gone on to gain over 10 jumping wins at novice/grade 5 and won into grade 6 at Wigton in 2007. Charlie now trains at Nottingham DTC and with Wendy and Mike Fairlamb at Racingredd.  Charlie’s first love isn’t agility and would rather spend his time running around at the seaside or walking on the North York Moors or Cumbrian fells with our 3 other rescue dogs.

Charlie is a loving dog, who loves his cuddles and creature comforts, we were very lucky to have been allowed to adopt him from Burnley Dog Rescue all those years ago.
