JANET LOCKWOOD & PRINCESSA DE LA NIEVE - SMALL G1 WINNERS

Nieve is a white and brown crossbreed with plenty of naughty spots, she has a long body, tail and short stumpy legs. Nieve was found dumped in Ireland with 1 brother and 1 sister in a cardboard box, they were bought across to England by Enfield Dog Rescue. I had been looking for another dog to do agility with and saw the pictures of the pups on a rescue page. They looked like collie cross pups and I decided to adopt her so aged around 5 months, home she came. She was originally called Princess by the foster carer, but I decided that name wasn't quite right for me. Princessa De La Nieve is spanish for Princess of the Snow, as she was born around December and as it also included her original name and she was all white, it just seemed perfect.

She didn't grow very much from the day we got her, her legs stayed the same. (now she had the nickname of stumpy from our friend Emma). We found her to be a very shy and a very quiet dog. My daughter and I put a lot of work in to make her more confident and at her first show in June 2007 she won out of Grade 1. She went from strength to strength and finished the season, in September in Grade 3 and has more than enough points for her Agility Warrant Bronze and not far from her silver. She has qualified for the Agility Club Starters Challenge and now of course the Darleague Finals, she has been a little star. Now around 2 years old I hope she keeps her enthusiasm in 2008 and her confidence keeps on building, I feel sure she has much more to give.

Thank you to Darleague for allowing these rescue dogs to be able to shine.
